Description

In oceanic lands, lighthouses overlook the cliffs and guide the boats with their beams of light, helping the numerous boats offshore. They will be your guides throughout this unique escape at the edge of the world. This stop at the tip of Europe is a delightful blend of landscapes shaped by the wind and sea, and sites that bear witness to the rich history of Finistère. To extend the adventure, we suggest a getaway to the sentinel island of Ouessant!

DAY 1 – Arrival in Brest.

Free time to discover the city: the National Maritime Museum, the Brest Castle, and the Museum of the Tower of Motte-Tanguy, the Château port, a cable car ride to explore the new Capucins district… Overnight at a hotel in Brest.

DAY 2 – From Brest to Le Conquet, in the land of Iroise.

A first journey through the land of Iroise, marked by numerous memorial sites recalling the Second World War: the Montbarrey Fort Museum, the 39-45 Memory Museum in Plougonvelin, and the Fort of Bertheaume, Lochrist, and Kermorvan. The most spectacular one, perched on the heights of Pointe Saint-Mathieu and overlooking the ruins of the ancient abbey, can be visited and offers an exceptional panorama of the Molene archipelago. The day ends in the charming fishing port of Le Conquet. Overnight in Le Conquet.

Day 3 – From Le Conquet to Porspoder

Departure through the peaceful estuary of Le Conquet and the vast beach of Blancs Sablons. You are at the end of the European continent, between the English Channel and the ocean. Day 4 – From Porspoder to Landéda, in the heart of the Abers

Departure along a wild coastline: the small port of Argenton, the surfer’s beach of Penfoul, the isolated chapel of Saint-Samson, the island of Melon, and offshore, the lighthouse of Le Four, before arriving at Portsall, where the memory of the Amoco Cadiz oil spill is still present. The megaliths of Guilliguy, a classified historical monument site, are a must-see stop before going around Aber Benoit to reach Landéda. Overnight in Landéda.

Day 5 – From Landéda to Brignogan Plages

Through the bucolic Aber Wrac’h, you will reach Plouguerneau and the lighthouse of Ile Vierge. Built with ashlar stone and measuring 82m (the tallest in Europe), this lighthouse can be visited, and as a reward at the top of its 397 steps, you’ll enjoy an exceptional viewpoint over the shipwreck coast and the Abers! On the way to Brignogan, white sandy beaches, emerald sea, gorse-covered dunes, and oyster parks make up the scenery for this day. Along the way, you’ll also discover the village of thatched cottages in Meneham and the lighthouse at Pointe de Ponstuval. Overnight in Brignogan.

Day 6 – From Brignogan Plages to Landerneau

The Goulven Bay offers a tranquil landscape with dunes and marshes where numerous bird species nest.
