Welcome to Gaël’s Workshop!

After a warm welcome, the artisan will begin by introducing his journey as well as the theoretical foundations of his ceramic craftsmanship. The session will focus on modeling, where you will have the opportunity to discover two techniques: slab building and coil building. You will also have the option to create a bowl, a vase, or a box.

For the first technique, you will start by rolling out the clay, just like you would with pastry dough! Then, you will cut out different slabs that will form the parts of the object you are creating. After allowing them to firm up, you will assemble them to give them the desired shape.

The second technique involves shaping the piece using stacked coils of clay. You will learn how to join them together by pressing them against each other and gradually smooth the outer surface as the piece rises.

Throughout this creative process, Gaël will be by your side, offering guidance and teaching you how to use specific tools such as the scoring tool or the extruder.

Finally, you will leave with your unique creation, molded by your own hands, which you will proudly display at home!
