Discover Suminagashi paper and bookbinding

Description

Discover the world of bookbinding with Laurie and learn about Suminagashi paper: a Japanese marbling technique created with Indian ink.

During this 4-hour workshop, Laurie will teach you the Suminagashi technique, and two of these decorated sheets will be used to create the cover of your future notebook.

Then it’s on to the making of your notebook and its “Coptic” binding: a very old binding technique, without glue, which consists in binding several leaf sections together. With this technique, your notebook will open completely flat, with the spine revealing the stitching and a beautiful chevron effect.

You’ll be lucky enough to walk away with your beautiful and unique A5 notebook!
